Mining shares were hit hard in London on Thursday as weaker copper prices, rising metal inventories and company-specific pressures triggered broad selling across some of the FTSE 100's largest resources stocks. Anglo American PLC (LSE:AAL) led the blue-chip fallers, dropping 4% to around 3,687p, while copper producer Antofagasta PLC (LSE:ANTO) fell 3% to 3,122p and precious metals miner Fresnillo PLC (LSE:FRES) declined 3% to 2,545p.
